Kevin Cheff, Owner, The Retriever Coach
Kevin Cheffs is a retriever trainer who has spent 30 years competing at the highest levels of field trials and hunt tests across the US and Canada. His record includes six Canadian National Champions, multiple National Finalists, and Field Champions with thousands of all-age points. After apprenticing under pro trainer Jamie Balesdent, he founded Flint River Retrievers in 2002. In 2015, he turned his focus from training dogs to teaching people. His philosophy: to train a retriever, you need to know more than how. You need to know why, and only then when. The same principles that build elite competition retrievers translate directly to SAR and detection work. Kevin still loves a good duck blind, but his greatest joy now is helping you become the trainer your dog deserves.
