Incentives & Bonus Contest

It's been a long road with the COVID-19 quarantine and we know that motivation might be a little low. So we have an incentive for each of you who choose to join us.

You see, there is actually one more "D". Its an advanced step. It's Distractions!

Having a solid trained final response is your dog's way of saying "Yes, this thing I am sniffing is what you are looking for."

But we all know that the vast majority of the time on a search our dogs are sniffing things that aren't target odor and they must be proficient at correctly telling us that too.

INCENTIVE: Everyone who joins us for the 5 Day TFR Challenge is going to get a special COVID-19 discount code for our Distraction Training Online Course. How much is the discount code for? $19 off -- because during a COVID-19 pandemic, what other number could it be?

BONUS CONTEST: At the end of our 5 Day TFR Challenge, we invite you to join our video contest. All you have do is post a video showing off all your hard work and progress towards building your rock solid trained final response,  Winner receives a FREE registration to our Distraction Training Online Course. The perfect opportunity to either introduce your dog to distractions or brush up their skills before workshops begin again.

*contest details posted on Friday*

Day 1: Definition

Getting crystal clear on exactly what you want your trained final response to look like, and what you don't want it to look like, improves your ability to communicate with your dog when they are correct and will result in instant progress in your TRF training. In Day 1 we give you access to the exact tool we use to gain this clarity.

Day 2: Decision

Performing a trained final response is actually a two step behavior. The first step is deciding that what they are sniffing is the correct target odor. In Day 2 we are going to give you specific techniques to build your dog’s speed and confidence in their decision.

Day 3: Direction

The second step in the trained final response is performing the behavior you have identified. The more precise we can be with our dog on how we want their body to move and be positioned in relationship to target odor when performing the behavior, the easier it is for them to learn and be successful. In Day 3 we will teach you how to manipulate your reward to get the exact behavior you want.

Day 4: Duration

Whether you are far away or out of sight of your dog during a search, they need to confidently perform their trained final response until you release them. Today's lesson is going to give you the steps to strategically build your dog's TFR duration.

Day 5: Distance

Our dogs need to be independent in their search, which means sometimes they are further away or even out of sight from their handler. In Day 5 we give you specific training drills to build your dog's confidence to perform their TFR no matter how near or far away you are.
