Paul Helms, DC in Bethesda MD received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University Chiropractic College in St. Louis, MO and earned his Bachelor’s of Biology from Davidson College. He has extensive education and experience treating painful conditions of all levels, especially sports injuries. Dr. Helms has advanced training in treating soft tissue injuries, including training in Active Release Technique and Level 3 Fitness Provide with Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). He also has extensive physical therapy and functional strength training expertise, as well as being certified as a CSCS strength coach and a CrossFit Level 1 Coach. He has worked with a wide variety of athletes ranging from CrossFitters to marathon runners to aerialists to even NLF (Philadelphia Eagles) and NBA players (Philadelphia Flyers). Not only does Dr. Helms treat athletes at various events, but he is an avid athlete himself. His home gym is CrossFit Bethesda and even coaches regular classes there. Dr. Helms’s philosophy is to use evidence-based treatment plans and care for patients compassionately utilizing a variety of techniques such as sports massage, chiropractic, and physical therapy to eliminate pain and improve the human body’s function. He strongly believes in patient education and empowering patients to improve their quality of life. Educated athletes are healthy athletes.
