Lauren Wendt, Conservation K9 Trainer at Momentum K9
Lauren Wendt brings 20 years of experience with sporting and working dogs, including the last nine years focused on conservation detection. She holds a degree in Wildlife Management and served 11 years as a wildlife police officer, where she built a K9 unit from the ground up. Additionally Lauren has been a Disaster Search and Rescue K9 handler with a certified HRD dog. She has trained and managed operational dog-handler teams across disciplines—from disaster search and rescue to anti-poaching work in Africa. Through her business, Momentum K9 LLC, she supports working dog teams and units with a focus on long-term performance and handler-team development. Lauren is passionate about building a culture of honest reflection, growth, and teamwork. She emphasizes creating supportive training environments that recognize training gaps, approach mistakes as essential learning opportunities, and believes this mindset is key to building resilient, mission-ready teams.
