Stacey West
Stacey West began training competition retrievers while in graduate school at Clemson University. Throughout his career of breeding, training and competing with competition Labrador Retrievers he competed in nearly every competitive event possible. In 2011, Stacey broadened his skillset when he went to work for K2 Solutions on their IED Detection Dog Contract for the US Marine Corps. His time with K2 carried him to Afghanistan as a Field Service Rep. Additionally, he served as the R&D Program Manager, Procurement Manager and Operations Manager. In 2018, Stacey started Anchored Canine, providing quality green dogs for CBP, TSA, Private Security Companies and State and Local Law Enforcement agencies. In 2020, Stacey began working with AKC's Patriotic Puppy Program and in 2022 moved to AKC full time as both Patriotic Puppy Program Manager and Executive Field Rep for Retriever Events. Stacey's experience in both sporting and detection training puts him in a unique spot to leverage knowledge of competition pedigrees to enhance the quality of canines available to detection dog trainers.
